WINNIPEG — Manitoba Mounties say a 66-year-old man has died in a farming accident.

Blue Hills RCMP says man appears to have been struck by farming equipment in the rural municipality of Glenboro South Cypress, about 170 kilometres west of Winnipeg.

Police say the man was from the nearby community of Ninette, Man.

RCMP and Manitoba Workplace Health and Safety are investigating the death.

RCMP also responded to a farming death in June, when a 68-year-old man became entangled with machinery at a commercial farming business.

Other workplace deaths in Manitoba this year include a man who was hit by a felled tree, a man who fell while roofing, a man whose equipment fell into a hole on a construction site and a man who died after being pulled into machinery at a factory.

This report by The Canadian Press was first published Sept. 18, 2026.
