Solana can be staked, meaning a holder locks coins to help validate transactions and earns a return. Bitcoin has no equivalent.

The Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (NYSEARCA:BSOL) stakes the coins it holds and passes the proceeds to shareholders. A buyer gets exposure to the token and a running yield on top, so the position earns something whether SOL moves or not.

That changes the reason to own it. An investor buying yield has a reason to wait out a bad month. An investor buying price alone has none. Bitcoin’s funds hold an asset that pays nothing, which is why their flows track sentiment so closely and reversed twice inside five sessions.

BSOL is also the only Solana fund with disclosed inflows for the week, and its shares closed 12.12% higher during that five-day stretch, ahead of SOL’s own 11.29% gain.

Which Streak Counts for More in October?

In the coming weeks, Bitcoin’s swings carry more weight. Funds that move $1.499 billion gross to settle at a net of $6.21 million have allocators trading in both directions on a large scale. That dynamic means a single macroeconomic surprise can turn a week from flat to negative.

In contrast, Solana’s performance is more consistent and easier to interpret. It has recorded twelve consecutive positive weeks, enduring a Federal Reserve rate hike, a failed crypto regulatory bill, and one flat session. This pattern reflects committed buyers who prefer to hold their investments, rather than traders reacting to news events. However, the total volume is limited, as $13.2 million in a week cannot move a $1.42 billion fund far.

Contact [email protected] for any questions or corrections.

Solana ETFs held their ground through a Fed rate hike and a failed Senate crypto bill, while Bitcoin funds swung nearly $1.5 billion in a single week just to end up almost exactly where they started.
